SunRise Sixth Form College, affiliated to many foreign universities, colleges / sixth form colleges, is a co-educational A level college accepting up to 100 students each year. The college is situated in Lagos, Nigeria.

No student is accepted without attending an interview, the initial purpose of which is to provide parents and students with the best educational advice. If we feel that it is appropriate to offer a place at SSFC, every effort is made during the interview to identify the right programme and options, often by means of detailed discussions with individual subject tutors.

Once a student is accepted at SSFC, our aim is to provide the most effective possible preparation for the specific exams that he or she will be taking. Our methods is based on intensive tuition in small groups, close personal monitoring of academic progress and regular examination practice. We insist on strict punctuality in the attendance of lessons and the submission of homework, but are otherwise free of many of the school rules which today's students find restrictive.

Two Years A – Level Courses

Two year A level courses give tremendous scope for gaining the widest possible AS and A level base. Students study at the pace most suited to their ability and aims. Frequent meetings with their Personal Tutor ensure that students are keeping constant track of their own progress. Students in these category can finish their programme in any of our affiliates in the UK.

Entry Requirement: WAEC, NECO or IGSCE O Level passes in four (4) subjects

Starting Dates: Lectures commence in January, May/June and September.

One Year A level Courses

Our one year A-Level courses are designed to cover the subject completely from the beginning, and are suitable for students in a variety of situations. For instance students who want to retake all of their A-levels, Or students who have achieved poor AS level grades and want to make a fresh start elsewhere.

Entry Requirement: WAEC, NECO or IGSCE O Level passes in five (5) subjects including English and Mathematics

Starting Dates: Lectures commence in January, May/June and September.

What is an 'A' level?

An 'A' level is an Advanced level GCE qualification. This exam is normally taken after many months of intensive coaching, the candidate must have taken his or her O-level exams (SSCE). Candidates can take two (2) or three (3) number of A-level subjects; this will often depend on the qualifications that your chosen institution has asked for.

Why should I take an 'A' level?

Good A-level results can give you access to any undergraduate studies at some of the best higher education learning institutions in the world. A-level qualifications can also give you access to professional courses.

Can I take an 'A' level?

You can take an 'A' level GCE if you have a SSCE qualification (Three Credit pass).

When can I sit for these exams?

These exams are administered twice in a year in May/ June and October/ November.
